MATH 098 D1P: Intermediate Algebra

Short Description: Sets and the real number system, polynomial and rational expressions, exponents and radicals, first and second degree equations, linear systems of equations, graphs. This course utilizes Academic Systems Algebra series which is 100% web based. Course fee includes accompanying textbook. No other textbook will be required.

How to Start Class:  Email your instructor to introduce yourself, attend any orientation meetings listed in the Class Meeting Schedule, and use the information below to gain access to any courseware that is used in your class. 
Please Note: Distance Learning courses require active participation and students need to log into their classes during the first week of the quarter to avoid getting behind. 

Textbook:  Textbook will be supplied by your instructor at orientation meeting. You must contact your instructor in person or by email before you can receive the instructional materials. 

Other Instructional Materials: Courseware used Academic Systems Algebra software. Optional drop in Math Lab meets in ED 2842A, Tuesdays, 5:30PM - 7:30PM. Technical requirements: Students who enroll in this course can access the course from any PC running Windows 2000 or above or from designated computer labs on campus / as well as MAC compatible.
 
For classes using an online component, we suggest that you download the free version of Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox and use one of these browsers whether or not AOL is your Internet Service Provider. Otherwise, if you are using the AOL browser, the built in shortcuts may cause problems with most North Online course tools. If you have loaded a special software tool bar such as the Google or Yahoo toolbar this may interfere with your courseware and cause it to not work properly please go to our tech support on Popups and Tool Bars for more information.
