
Short Description: This fully online course surveys the origin and development of the U.S. government. It covers Colonial history, the Confederacy and the creation of a federal system. It also covers the functions of Congress, the Executive Branch, and the Judicial Branch of government. Discussions and debate include interest groups, civil liberties, political parties, and elections. This course gives students a broad understanding about how American government makes policy. This is a transfer class and it fulfills Individuals/Society requirement.
